The Recycler is an Other item in Raft.

Summary[]

The Recycler can be built after researching it using the blueprint found at the top of the Radio Tower. After placing it on the raft, players then can put raw resources into the Recycler, which will eventually output a Trash Cube, which is one of the main currencies used in the Trading Post.

Uses[]

  • Used to compress any raw resource into a Trash Cube, up to a maximum of 4 per Recycler, after about 9 minutes 30 seconds to 12 minutes in real-time, which can be used to trade at the Trading Post.
  • Is fueled by a Battery.
  • Can be painted any color with the Paint Brush.

Mechanics[]

Different materials have different values, which, in practice, means some materials fill up the container faster. The max capacity of the Recycler is valued at 600. To make one Trash Cube, 150 units of materials are spent.

Strategy[]

Palm Leafs are the best way to get Trash Cubes, given the vast quantity of it that is picked up with collection nets, and low usage in recipes. Additionally, the ability to compress palm leaves into ropes yields increased recycler efficiency. Leaves often spawn in groups of three which make it the most easily accumulated resource.

No other materials are as easily gained, with as little usage.

Additionally, they are freely gained, requiring no tools or weapons that would need replenishing. Thus, minus the time to walk around to your collection nets, this is exponentially more efficient than any farming or combat.

Avoid using comparatively rare items in the Recycler such as titanium ore/titanium ingots as they are just a waste of materials.

In the end game, Wool is the best item to quickly get trash cubes, as you only need 2 wool per trash cube and you can get 15 wool per 2 metal after getting a few llamas (3.75 trash cubes per 1 metal). This also significantly reduces the number of times you have to press use on the recycler.
