• Major Tom is a fictional astronaut referenced in David Bowie's songs "Space Oddity", "Ashes to Ashes", "Hallo Spaceboy", and "Blackstar".\
• Peter Schilling was not happy with how David Bowie's follow-up to Space Oddity (Ashes to Ashes) treated the character, so wrote his own sequel, "Major Tom (Coming Home)".
