Lurkers are enemies in Raft. They are one of multiple threats to the player.
Summary[ | ]
Lurkers are large rat-like rodents. There are two different types of Lurkers.
- The first Lurker type is found on the abandoned ship, Vasagatan, and can be heard scurrying around the deck and floors. Their sight range is short, but they will attack the player on sight. These Lurkers will respawn in a few minutes after being killed.
- The second type is slightly bigger and stronger, needing 20 HP damage more than the first type. It is found on Tangaroa. It is also found on the Construction Crane at Varuna Point.
Strategies[ | ]
Dodge and Stab[ | ]
The Lurker is a weak enemy with low hit points, and weak attacks. If the player is outside its melee range, it will always attempt to jump at the player. The easiest strategy is therefore simply to dodge the pounce attack and stab it immediately afterwards.
Due to the Lurker's low health, it can be killed in six hits with a Wooden Spear, three hits with a Metal Spear or as low as two hits with Metal Arrows and there is little risk of dying to Lurkers unless caught off guard without any weapons.
Bow and Arrow[ | ]
If the player uses ranged attacks, they can position themselves on top of any of the furniture of the ship and shoot the Lurker, while it is unable to reach the player. A dodge and shoot tactic, similar to that of a spear, can also be adopted - shoot the Lurker, wait and dodge its pounce attack, and then shoot it again until it is dead.
