Engine
Allows you to go in different directions and increases your speed.

Engine is a Navigation item in Raft.

Summary

The Engine is acquired through a blueprint found on the Vasagatan. After researching the blueprint, players may build and place an engine in order to sail against the wind. Used in combination with the Steering Wheel, the play gets full control of which direction they wish to sail.

Uses

Powers your raft. Allows you to sail at speed in one of two directions, forward and backwards. Combined with a Steering Wheel the Engine allows the player to sail in any direction they desire, regardless of wind direction. One Engine can push a raft of up to 100 Foundations. For each 100 Foundations, another Engine most be built and run simultaneously.

The Engine runs on Planks or Biofuel. While using Planks, the Engine will burn through a full tank of 17 planks in a little over 10 minutes (612 seconds). Biofuel will last longer than planks, but also requires Honey making it a much harder fuel to obtain.

If the Engine is unable to push the Raft, whether it's anchored or overburdened, it will slow down almost to a stop indicating something is wrong. No fuel is used during this time, despite the Engine being on.

Acquisition

To research the Engine you must first obtain the Engine Blueprint, located in the Vasagatan shipwreck.

Added to the game in Patch 10.
